Join us at our table

We remember when Cedar City had just two traffic lights. We remember JCPenny, the old red brick post office, the original movie theater, Cornet,Woolworth’s, Fernwood’s, and Christensen’s on Main Street. From our home on Second East, we could jump on our bikes and ride to the old public library on Center Street, grab a treat at Cowley’s, catch a movie, and then follow it up with a burger at Arctic Circle, if we had enough newspaper money that is.

We remember Cedar in its simplicity. We are home grown and here to stay.

Welcome to our home town; Welcome to Second East

Our Story

Welcome to Second East

Second East represents Rootedness, the ability to connect with the past, present, and future.

We grew up in the original part of town. Some call it Dog Town. We call it home. Second East caught the breeze of autumn on the north and the echoes of summer’s baseball diamonds on the south. Our little red brick house grew our stories.

Mom and Dad dropped their roots on Second East in the late ‘60’s. Our stories seemed to follow; they grabbed hold of Second East and soaked up the memories, and we saved them for later. The nine of us, under one roof, and gathered on one pew for Sunday Services.

Sunday Sermons, Little League baseball, delivering newspapers, and camping at the “S” curve campground framed our childhoods. The seasons came and went, and we grew and out grew our memories and our hand me downs. But we never outgrew 2nd East.

Second East… it doesn’t get more homegrown than this

About Us:
Our Family

Chris and Jennifer have been mainstays in our Southern Utah Community for over five decades. Both Chris and Jennifer have contributed immensely to improving the lives of youth in Cedar City through coaching, parks and recreation activities, and numerous other civic services.

Chris and Jennifer are the parents of four children: Easton (Alex), Javlyn, Dream, Japrix, and they have one grandson, League.

Travis found Amyanne (Chris’ younger sister) on 2nd East when they were fifteen; they married six years later. Travis’ thirty years of entrepreneurship experience combined with decades of church and civic service compliments Amyanne’s nearly twenty years of service in the PTA and teaching English at the local high school.

Travis and Amyanne are the parents of five children: Seleck (Leydi), Stockton (Amanda), Madsen, Emma, Maleck, and they are expecting a granddaughter in May.
